Growing up, Squash was a favorite sport in our family. I have so many memories of my Dad tearing it up on the court and enjoying some friendly competition. For those of you who may be new to Squash, it’s a racquet sport played by two players (or four players for doubles) in a four-walled court with a small, hollow rubber ball. Similar to Racquetball, Squash uses a narrower racquet and a smaller court.
When we heard the Houston Squash Club would be hosting the first ever Southwestern Women’s Squash Open, it was a natural fit for Cotidié to be the presenting sponsor. Our mission is to empower women to live life more fully, and we have to say – these incredible squash players who competed in Houston are inspirations to girls and women all over the world.
We want to send a huge Congratulations to Nouran Gohar for claiming the inaugural Southwestern Women’s Open title in Houston. Nouran took home the largest prize in a competition so far of $110,000.
Thank you to all of the competitors, promoters, spectators, and of course the Houston Squash Club for hosting. We are so proud!
